Description
The Maple Nibis is a medium-sized bird with a tall, slender frame and long legs suited for wading near water. Its plumage is dominated by deep crimson and fiery orange tones, with lighter golden highlights that resemble autumn leaves in full color. The wings are broad and layered with bright feathers that fan outward, while the long tail feathers trail behind like cascading flames. Its crest is sharp and jagged, rising in a crown-like formation above its narrow head, while its beak is elongated and sharply pointed, ideal for foraging.
Behaviour
Nibis display a protective type of temperament. They are highly territorial and will guard their nesting grounds fiercely, especially during breeding seasons. These animals live close to open water sources such as marshes and river deltas, where they construct large nests out of dirt and leaves. Their protective nature means that while they may not actively seek confrontation, they will not hesitate to ward off any intruders if they feel their territory is being threatened.
