Description

The Thessalika Nango is a mammalian species with a heavily scaled, armor-like exterior that gives it a distinctly reptilian appearance. Its body is low and quadrupedal, covered in overlapping plate structures that thicken along the back and shoulders, providing natural protection. A short, spined crest runs from the head down the neck, with lighter, bristle-like growths appearing toward the tail. Despite its dragon-like silhouette, the species can be identified as a mammal. Individuals vary noticeably in size with age, though their overall form remains consistent.

Behaviour

Nangos display a protective but independent temperament. They tend to keep their distance, observing cautiously, and behave in a largely solitary manner. Not naturally aggressive, they may become strongly loyal once trust is established, showing pack-oriented behavior toward those they accept. Despite being carnivorous, Nangos do not hunt larger prey and instead feed exclusively on insects found among leaves, petals, and low vegetation. Their calm vigilance and selective loyalty make them wary yet dependable companions once bonded.

Building trust

  1. Hostile

A hostile Nango keeps its distance and answers any approach with a warning. Leave a Nango Snack on the ground and withdraw out of sight - it will not touch anything while it can see you standing over it.

  2. Cautious

It observes you now rather than warning you off. Offer a Nango Snack directly - accepted from your hand, the same treat carries far more weight than one left behind.

  3. Neutral

A neutral Nango allows you within reach, though it still keeps to itself. Stroke it - touch now earns its trust several times faster than feeding.

  4. Warm

A warm Nango seeks you out instead of watching from afar. No new gesture opens up at this stage - petting remains by far the fastest way to deepen the bond.

  5. Friendly

A friendly Nango will abandon its solitary habits to follow you. Keep it at your side and lead it back to a nest to make the bond permanent.
